Mr. McGee has been investing risk capital and working collaboratively with small and medium enterprises for over three decades. Micheal is currently the Director of Innovation with Bioenterprise Corporation and is involved with the launch of Alberta Yield, a joint initiative between Bioenterprise Corporation, TEC Edmonton, and Platform Calgary helping early and growth stage Ag-Tech and Food-Tech companies hone their growth strategies. Previously he spent eight years as a Partner with Avrio Capital, one of Canada’s best known and first equity fund exclusively focused on Agriculture and Food. Micheal also spent 10 years in the banking industry with BMO Capital in Toronto before moving to Calgary. He also has extensive experience in senior investment working in postitions for Werklund Capital Corporation and Cavendish Investing Ltd.
Micheal consideres himself a practical and principled businessman with excellent communication skills, whose varied experiences, coupled with a robust corporate governance background makes him well-suited to work through various business challenges.
Michael has a Masters of Finance degree from Loyola University, and an undergraduate degree from Western University.
