Teach Music 21C is a professional development program designed specifically for today’s music teachers. With goals to enhance and expand music studio teachers’ skillset, this forward-thinking program recognizes that a major educational paradigm shift is taking place. Today’s music teachers are more than founts of knowledge who pass on their musical expertise to students; 21st century music teachers also build on and exercise their students’ authentic musical interests. This means teachers purposefully employ instructional strategies that champion collaboration, reflective thought processes, multilayered curriculum models, and sustainable learning procedures. As a socially inspired undertaking, Teach Music 21C is changing the music teaching world, one lesson at a time.
