Effective innovation requires well-informed and well-defined differentiation in a global and changing competitor landscape. Jim brings machine learning tools and intellectual property expertise to help innovators define their differentiation and wedge themselves into the innovation landscape. In health tech, Jim uses statistical methods and machine learning to find health data features which impact health outcomes. Jim builds on a background of Cambridge University mathematics, University of Calgary biomedical engineering, and aerospace manufacturing at Rolls-Royce. Additionally, Jim serves as a Search Manager with the Calgary Search and Rescue Team – a role that includes a surprising amount of real-time, statistical modelling to drive timely outcomes for missing person searches in large, complex landscapes.
