North Vector Dynamics is developing a novel counter uncrewed aerial system (CUAS) platform to take on the threat posed by the proliferation of militarized drones. The widespread adoption of low-cost consumer drones has created a plethora of beneficial capabilities and services. Unfortunately, the increased popularity of drone technology has also created a new type of security challenge which can threaten critical infrastructure, secure airspaces, and be deployed on the battlefield against Canada and its allies. North Vector Dynamics is leveraging the latest advancements in autonomous system technology to develop low-cost effectors that can be deployed against a variety of UAS threats.
Colin Hill is a co-founder and CTO of North Vector Dynamics. He holds a PhD from the University of Calgary in mechanical engineering. Prior to North Vector Dynamics, he gained experience in autonomous robotics systems, flight vehicle design, and hybrid rocket development. At North Vector Dynamics he draws on experience from each of these fields on the mission to develop low-cost and effective CUAS solutions.
