AJ Bird is a proud member Deninu Kųę́ First Nation and a Treaty 8 Indian working in climate solutions. She has been working in clean technology since 2016 and has experience in business development in biogas, clean water systems, renewable energy and nature-based solutions. Her expertise spans strategy, carbon credits, the emerging biodiversity (nature assets) sector, and Indigenous business partnerships focused on climate solutions. AJ sits on the Community Advisory Panel advising the Biodiversity Credit Alliance as well as assisting Indigenous nature based project development globally.

At present, she is spearheading an Indigenous led biochar and renewable diesel production project utilizing waste biomass. AJ is a former Toronto Police Officer and trained hostage negotiator and investigator. She did a brief stint at law school at the University of Saskatchewan and holds executive certificates in negotiation from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
