After three years of supporting founders and partners across Calgary’s innovation ecosystem, the Social Innovation Hub (SIH) at Innovate Calgary is entering a transition phase. The Hub will operate through March 31, 2026, after which the SIH, as it exists today, will come to a close.

As a member, you may have questions about what this transition means for you. Below are some common questions and answers.
What should I do with my keycard pass?
- Keycards should be returned during office hours at the Social Innovation Hub on the last date of your membership or March 31st, whichever comes first. If you run into issues, please email socialinnovationhub@innovatecalgary.com.
Can I still receive mail at the Social Innovation Hub?
- If you have the Social Innovation Hub as your mailing address, please make sure to update it so that no mail is sent to this location after March 31, 2026. There will be no one to receive any packages after this date.
Can I cancel my membership before March31, 2026:
- a) Members paying monthly
- If you would like to cancel your membership ahead of March 31, 2026, please email socialinnovationhub@innovatecalgary.com. Your membership will end at the end at the end of that billing period. You will not be charged again for your membership.
- b) Members who have paid for a year
- A refund is possible for those who paid for a membership that extends beyond March 31, 2026 based on EA hours used. If you would like a refund
I paid for a 1-year membership, what will happen to me?
- Your membership to the Social Innovation Hub will end on March 31, 2026. You will be refunded any owed amount based on unused EA hours used as per the membership agreement.
- Transferring your membership to a different Hub may be possible if your project fits the mandate of the Life Sciences Innovation Hub (LSIH) or the Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing Hub (AIH). Reach out to Maryam Moein (mmoein@innovatecalgary.com) for the AIH, and Alla Bondareva (abondareva@innovatecalgary.com) for the LSIH, if you are interested in transferring your membership to one of these Hubs, and CC Chantal Palmer, SIH Community Manager (cpalmer@innovatecalgary.com).
Can I still use my cumulated EA hours:
- If you have cumulated EA hours, you have until the end of your membership to use them or March 31st, 2026, whichever comes first.
Where can I go for support after my membership ends?
We’ve gathered a few preliminary key resources to begin, and will continue adding over the coming weeks:
- University of Calgary, Social Innovation Initiative (if you have an interest in leveraging University assets in your work, e.g. student talent, researcher connections, etc)
- University of Calgary, Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, for members of the UCalgary community (students, faculty, staff) looking for general entrepreneurial supports, as well as some resources for local founders
- Platform Calgary, for general entrepreneurial supports (e.g. capacity buildling programming, networking events)
- Non-Profit Chamber for our nonprofit members looking for community.
- Business Link for members looking for general business advice and resources.
- InceptionU for members looking for support developing an MVP.
