Four UCalgary startups awarded Innovation Catalyst Grant by the Government of Alberta

The Innovation Catalyst Grant program is boosting technology commercialization from Alberta’s universities, increasing the pool of highly talented people and enhancing public and private investment attraction to the province.

The program awards up to $250,000 over two years to successful applicants to encourage company creation, technology commercialization and economic diversification while connecting them to business and technical mentorship and access to labs at Alberta universities.

Congratulations to the four UCalgary startup recipients

  • NanoSoln, Afif Hethnawi
    Water treatment solutions for oil sands operations using nanotechnology-based filtration systems.
  • C-Zero Inc., Shariful Kibria Nabil
    Integrated capture and conversion of CO2 to ethylene conversion technology via electrochemical pathways.
  • SenSyn, Mohsen Janmaleki
    Developing integrated solutions for hydrocarbon leaks and spills.
  • Quantized Technologies Inc., Jordan Smith
    Emerging technology offering hardware-based quantum cryptography solutions.
