In a collaborative effort to champion innovation and entrepreneurship, Innovate Calgary, in conjunction with the University of Calgary, Alberta Innovates, and key partners, recently hosted a landmark event spotlighting groundbreaking advancements in digital health and life sciences.

Craig Doram, Stroke.ai

Stroke.ai is dedicated to enhancing lives through advancements in body movement monitoring technology. Their focus lies in the development of a clinically validated IoT solution tailored specifically for stroke patients. Leveraging proprietary hardware and a machine learning-enabled platform, Stroke.ai is pioneering modern technology to address the critical issue of stroke detection and management.

The company recognizes the urgency of stroke situations, particularly instances where victims may be alone and incapacitated, hindering their ability to seek help promptly. The Life Sciences Fellowship program nurtures early-stage startups with technology-driven solutions, providing funding, technology development resources, professional training, and expert support. Supported by Alberta Innovates, Alberta Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Northern Development, Calgary Economic Development’s Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund, and Prairies Economic Development Canada, this two-year initiative empowers innovation in the digital health and life sciences sector.
