This month, we’re thrilled to have Janet Stewart join us for some behind-the-scenes storytelling of Inglewood Opportunity Hub (IOH), a part of Woods Homes, which provides 500 multi-barriered youth and young adult Calgarians ages 15 to 29 the supports and services they need to make a successful transition to adulthood each year. The IOH Social Enterprise Initiatives is one pillar of this hub model of service delivery. The YCAP Market launched in 2022 so that youth and young adults learning the skills to cook could sell what they made and the Inglewood Event Centre offering catering, led by these youth, and space rental in 2023.

About the speaker
Janet Stewart, R. Psych, is an Associate Director of Wood’s Homes responsible for program development at Eastside Community Mental Health Services and the Inglewood Opportunity Hub. She has been with Wood’s Homes as a crisis counsellor, an intensive treatment and walk-in single session therapy clinician and in leadership since 2003. Janet has established a successful mixed funding model for community-based human services within the Wood’s Homes continuum of programs. Over the past 3 years, Janet has been leading the scaling up of social enterprise initiatives within these services, combining the pursuit of the mission of Wood’s Homes with the sales of goods and services with these funds directed back to this mission.
