This month, we’re thrilled to have Charles Buchanan join us for some behind-the-scenes storytelling of Technology Helps, a social enterprise transforming access to technology and aiming to improve technology literacy in our community. During the event, Charles will reflect on his journey as a founder and Technology Help’s approach to reducing technology poverty.

About Charles Buchanan

Charles Buchanan is the Founder and CEO of Technology Helps. As an innovator and visionary, he has a distinguished history in corporate technology leadership management consulting, and entrepreneurship. Charles has a has founded and worked with numerous technology companies in diverse areas such as online gaming, fintech, and environmental protection.

Charles is a passionate contributor to the community, serving on various non-profit boards and committees, including Calgary Black Chambers (co-founder); The Common Approach to Impact Measurement; Momentum; Black Business and Professional Association; Grant Committee at Calgary Foundation; entrepreneur mentor at Venture Mentors Service of Alberta (VMSA); founder and advisory board member of UpRising Academy helping talented at-risk youth in Jamaica in STEM and sports.

He holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and a B.Sc. (Hons) in electrical and computer engineering.

This event is hosted by the Social Innovation Hub, a place where social innovators can get the support they need to scale and grow their businesses in a community of like-minded individuals. This event is open to members and non-members of the hub.

The Social Innovation Hub is located on the second floor of the Alastair Ross Technology Centre. Parking is available for $9 a day. The Hub is also a 10 minute walk from the Brentwood C-Train Stations.
