Interim Vice-President (Finance & Services), University of Calgary

Ron Kim is the Interim Vice-President (Finance & Services) – Finance at the University of Calgary.  He leads the finance unit, ancillary services and the office of the internal auditor.  Prior to assuming his current role, Ron was the senior associate vice-president (finance) at the university responsible for providing strategic leadership and management in the areas of investments and treasury, financial operations, supply chain management, financial reporting, and finance services.

Ron is a senior finance executive with over 25 years of experience aligning financial strategy to organizational needs. His experience includes leadership positions within various large organizations including Ernst & Young LLP, Suncor Energy and most recently, at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) where Ron has spent 12 years and progressed to Vice-President Finance and Principal Accounting Officer.

Ron is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) and serves in UAPP’s Investment Committee.  Further, Ron is also a member of the Board of Directors for the University of Calgary Properties Group.
Ron is an alumnus of the University of Calgary, holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
