Current role: Incoming Assistant Professor at University of Alberta; Energy Systems Analyst at the Transition Accelerator
Dr. Khan is an incoming professor at the University of Alberta, and his research work is focused on design and analysis of sustainable energy systems and NetZero transition pathways for Canada. Currently he is working for the Transition Accelerator and Edmonton Hydrogen Hub on techno-economic and life cycle studies around a new hydrogen value chain in Alberta. Dr. Khan has a PhD in Material Science and Engineering and prior to joining the Transition Accelerator, he was working in Saudi Arabia for SABIC where he was a Lead Scientist under Hydrogen Platform. He has spent the last 8 years working across the value chain of hydrogen and clean technology development, spanning material synthesis and characterization, reactor design, pilot demonstrations and system level analysis. His career has materialized into 6 granted US patents, 1 book chapter and over 37 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
