Marcello Tonelli

Marcello Tonelli is a nephrologist and Professor of Medicine at the University of Calgary. He is the founding Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Prevention and Control of Chronic Kidney Disease. Dr. Tonelli is the President of the International Society of Nephrology and past President of the Canadian Society of Nephrology. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. He has been named a “Highly Cited” researcher by Thompson-Reuters every year since 2015. He previously served on the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research as a member and a member of the Executive Committee.
