About the program

CATALYZE supports social enterprise startups to meet mission-critical milestones while providing youth with a transformative working experience. Undergraduate and graduate students are paired with startups in the social impact space; this helps build student confidence and entrepreneurial thinking skills while building capacity for participating in social ventures.

Building a robust social innovation ecosystem

Ventures receive support

Students will partner with social enterprises to support in several key areas including: 

  • Business/Fund development 
  • Financial modeling 
  • Market research and segmentation 
  • Marketing and communications 
  • Product/Service design and development 
  • Strategic planning 

Students receive support

Students will receive weekly coaching, mentorship, and workshops on key areas of entrepreneurship and social enterprise, including: 

  • Customer discovery 
  • Business model canvas development 
  • Human-centered design 
  • Customer mapping 
  • Financial models for social enterprise 

Entry Requirements

If you are entrepreneurially inclined with a passion for social impact, apply!

 Candidates must be: 

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada; 
  • Students at a post-secondary institution (undergraduate or graduate program).

 Students from all faculties/disciplines are encouraged to apply.
