This month, we’re thrilled to have Heather Nippard join us for some behind-the-scenes storytelling of Change is Good is a social enterprise operated by the Calgary Dream Centre, designed to create sustainable revenue while advancing recovery, employment, and community connection to local nonprofit initiatives. Through its retail thrift model, Change is Good diverts textiles and goods from landfills, fosters local generosity through donations, and provides meaningful work experience for individuals rebuilding their lives after addiction or homelessness.

With over eight years of experience in social enterprise development, she has focused her career on creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers and redefining how the nonprofit sector approaches business.
Currently leading the Calgary Dream Centre’s social enterprise portfolio – including the boutique thrift store Change is Good, Heather combines strategic vision, creative leadership, and operational expertise to demonstrate that profit and purpose can powerfully coexist.
